Happy 2nd Birthday Lucy Kate!
August 3rd, our Lucy turned 2. I can hardly believe it! She LOVED eating birthday cake and ice cream, and proudly holds up two fingers when asked her age. Lucy, you are pure joy. You have the sweetest little spirit and the gift of gab for sure (makes your mama proud!) Watching you grow is the absolute best! Although...maybe you could slow it down a little?!?!
We love you SO much!

Happy Fourth of July!
My parents drove out to CO to spend a few days with us. We had a GREAT time, as always, and Lucy loved having her Baaba and Papa here to play with her. We grilled out on the Fourth, and we had a picnic in the backyard. Lucy was quite into the corn on the cob, ha! Thankful for the opportunity to be with family and for the freedom we have in this country. It was a great holiday weekend!!

Look out Summer...here she comes!
Friday, May 24, 2013
This week, I've been reminded of several things. On Monday, as I'm sure most everyone knows, Moore, OK was hit with a massive and horrific tornado. Tornadoes aren't new to the state of OK, but ones of this size and magnitude don't come around all that often. As I watch the news, my heart just breaks for these families who lost everything. I mean everything. People who woke up Monday morning having no idea what was about to take place. And the schools! All those precious children...as a parent, I cannot fathom.
Then today, I read on facebook that some dear sweet friends who just moved recently from CO to WA, are at the hospital with their precious 7 month old daughter who is sick and undergoing surgery. They don't know what is wrong yet...while we are sad they are no longer here in Colorado, I believe this is a GOD thing!!! Her family is all up in that area and they have a wonderful support system and lots of prayer warriors! Love you guys, we are praying with full confindence that Reese is healed!
I am reminded how precious life is. That truly, EACH and EVERY day is a gift from the Lord. Tell the people you love that you love them! Everyday. When I find myself thinking about my "to do" list, or having a self-pity party moment, I pray that I am immediately humbled and reminded it's not about me. I pray that I am constantly seeking ways to glorify God through everything I say and do. I pray that I am not so self absorbed that I'm able to recognize other people's/friend's needs. I pray that I choose joy everyday, and that I'm setting that example for Lucy. I pray that my heart is full of thanks when she is clingy and needy-how wonderful that my baby wants me to hold her in my arms.
Life is gonna happen. There is just some ugly "stuff" that goes on sometimes. A lot of times, we don't know why. We don't understand...and I certainly don't want to ever pretend or act like I have the answers. Because I sure don't! But what I do know and take comfort in is the HOPE that our Jesus is and gives. HE has not forgotten or forsaken us. He is ever-present and ever-loving. Jesus, I pray that you would be glorified in the midst of times like this week when there just seems to be alot of darkenss. Show your power. Thank you God, that you are healer, and that you are greater, higher and stronger!

Where does the time go???
I'm back! And I've been a pathetic blogger this year thus far...BUT...I hopefully can get my rear in gear and get back to writing a weekly or monthly update. Life in the Ledbetter Lane is good! We've had lots and lots of visitors this year so far, which has been SO wonderful. March was so busy, I felt like I blinked and it was over! Lucy is growing and changing and TALKING! Oh my word, this child is SO verbal...(she obviously gets that from her daddy!) :) Here are a few Lucy pics.

Hello 2013!
Well, the holidays flew by way too quickly (as they always do!) But we were able to spend precious time with family and friends in OKC, FL, and Chicago. Needless to say, I took about 700 pictures...don't worry, I'm not going to post them all :) This is one of my favorites...it was just one of those special moments. God's beauty in the background and my loves right there with me.
I hope and pray everyone's year is off to a great start...blessings to you today!

Merry Christmas!
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
May His great love, joy and peace fill your hearts and minds this season and all throughout the coming year. Merry Christmas!
